Big Brand Thinking for a Small Business

The Challenge

Fourteen Sweets is a small, founder-run dessert business built around classic recipes, thoughtful details, and genuine care. With limited time, budget, and resources, the challenge was to create a brand that felt as beautiful and considered as the product itself while remaining affordable, practical, and easy for one person to manage.

The Solve

I built the brand around both the founder’s personality and the realities of her business, creating a visual identity, packaging system, tone of voice, and content approach designed to be beautiful without becoming complicated to maintain. To make high-quality brand photography attainable within her budget, I art directed, styled, and photographed the founder and her desserts myself, creating imagery that felt nostalgic and approachable while still signaling the quality, craft, and care behind every product.

The Impact

The result was a polished, cohesive brand that elevated the perception of Fourteen Sweets without creating an expensive or resource-heavy system for the founder to sustain. By designing around her real constraints and stepping in wherever needed to bring the vision to life, I gave her a flexible set of tools and imagery she could confidently use to tell her story, market the business, and present her work at the level of quality it deserved.
